Family members who care for a loved one with a developmental disability can sometimes need a break. Respite services provide temporary relief from the demands of caregiving, which can help reduce overall family stress. This enables families to better meet the needs of their loved one with a developmental disability. Respite at Hopewell is provided in two locations to meet our community’s needs: Our children’s home provides support for individuals with complex developmental disabilities/dual diagnosis between the ages of 6-18. Our adult home provides support for individuals with a developmental disability over 18 years of age. This location is fully accessible.
Our Respite support services are flexible to meet the family’s needs and can be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekends.
Whether it’s a needed break, helping to support a family dealing with a family illness or an emergency, or caregiver or staff vacation, respite services can ensure that their loved one’s needs are met.
