Hopewell started in 1983 by John and Joanne Oosterhuis as a way of helping families in their community; families who needed additional support for their child living with a disability. The Oosterhuis family provided this help by purchasing a large farmhouse in Ariss, ON and becoming foster parents for four children to start. As word got out about the individualized care that the Oosterhuis family provided, referrals continued to increase, and Hopewell started its evolution into the organization it is today. Today, Hopewell offers services in 8 locations and provides families and communities with respite, recreational, and supported living services.
Our unique culture allows us to stay focused on our mission of enriching the lives of individuals with a range of physical and developmental abilities to experience a full life.
